Jesus took the sin of the world upon Himself and died on the cross for us all, you and me.

The "church" is not a building, but rather who we are as a collective—the body of Christ in our community. 

For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
